Reasons.....
for my retirement. Hello all my faithful friends. Many of you know, but I am finally taking this opportunity to make it officially public that I am choosing an early retirement for myself. Or, you could call it an extended vacation, maybe a pursuit of other "passions." My true passions in life include a 7 year old, a 4 year old, a 1 year old, and a 30 something year old :) It has become increasingly straining for me to homeschool the children, have quality time with the fam, date nights with hubster, and photograph/edit/consult. I am searching for a way to be able to truly use my photography business solely as a ministry and no longer a business in any form. I am currently praying about it and trying to be creative. My passion for photography has not dimmed....it's just that my passion for the Lord and my family has overshadowed all my other passions. I have never been good at being dual-minded....I know so many people who excel at this--some of my best friends, in fact. But me...not so good at it. So, for now, here's the scoop....
1. I may eventually return to the photog business, someday.....
2. I am booking no more than 2 sessions a month and trying to reserve those spots for ministry opportunities and family.
Please let me know if you need assistance finding a photographer in the area....I have some very talented friends :)
Thanks for your support, encouragement, and friendship. I know you understand. I mean, how could you not? Look at those sugary little faces above. We just got their pics made at the beach by this amazing photographer.
Peace and Blessings to you in your pursuit of your passions.

Good Lovin'

Oh-I love these children. Talk about easy to photograph!! They made my job super easy. Plus, seriously, look at their parents...they couldn't go wrong. Beautiful people-all four of them. I captured so many lovey little moments between Kaden and Kate. You would think they whisper in each others ears, hug, and tell each other secrets all the time. Fun fam.

A special family...
What an incredible family I got to spend my Sunday morning with. This family is just awesome and they mean a lot to me. What an honor to get to hang out with them. They have blessed me in so many ways.
Little boys hold a special part of mommy's heart.
You can probably tell by my blog that these kinds of pics are TOTALLY my favorite. Little snapshots that are totally un-posed and caught on the fly....capturing little moments. I love it.

The entire gang...

Tiffany's family's version of the dog pile...
Allison's family's version (after the tumble)...
Lilli's version of the tutu....
Tiffany rockin' the tutu.....
Thanks for loads of fun!!!!

Cutie Pa Tooties

What a fun time I had with this family. And what cute boys! We had fun exploring Paseo blowing bubbles, walking around, and getting to know each other. Cole loved me right away (if I do say so myself) and Bodie...well not so much (Full Disclosure: He pretty much hated me at the beginning). But, after a little bit, Bodie warmed up to me and by the end we decided we could be friends. Thanks, Holly and Mike, I cannot wait to sort through the rest of your photos.

On Sebatical
As you might have been able to notice, I am taking some time off. Many of you know that we are adding to our family through the miracle of adoption. Our son, Jude, will be coming home in early 2009 and we are thrilled beyond belief. The next photo I post will be the most lovely photo I can imagine. It will be of my whole family together at last.
I will be taking a break from my photography business from December 2008-April 2009. I am, in fact, booking in April already. Please feel free to contact me via email and I will return your email as soon as possible. Keep in mind, if there is a delay it could be because we are out of the country or newly home with our son.
God bless all of you.
